I received a GBA transmission with an unexpected update about my position. You amy have seen it already.

I am having some feelings about it. I was brought on as Earth’s coffee distributor, completed lunar training, and was ready to help get those beans out into the world. Now the GBA has decided that coffee sales are on hold for the time being. The preservation units at the Lunar Facility are being recalibrated, and apparently Earth’s coffee market needs a little more time to make room for us.

So that job is no longer needed right now.

Instead, the GBA has appointed me Director of Anomaly Operations, Earth Division.

I don’t remember applying for this position. I’m fairly sure I didn’t accept it, either. But here we are. I am deliberating how to best ask about the pay structure for my new position as the Distributor contract was based on commission.

It looks like I’ll be the GBA’s Earth Phenomenon Contact, helping new Investigators learn how to document and submit reports. That could actually be interesting. I’ll need to put together some guidance so people know what to look for and how to record it. And the Best Bean Contest might be fun, or at least educational. People everywhere can share their best coffee-bean experiences, and the GBA can start building its very own Earth coffee data set.

I admit, managing reports about the supernatural gives me pause. What if the reports don’t come in? Although, considering how many ghost and UFO shows are on cable and streaming, there’s clearly no shortage of people who enjoy a good unexplained story. Maybe I’ll end up with some excellent reading material.

The GBA has also sent a fancy seal for my new position. I’m told I’ll need to add it to all my official correspondence. That’s kinda cool.

I’m still digesting all this but I wanted to make sure I put something down in the log.
