Yesterday, astronomers announced that they had detected radio emissions coming directly from an exoplanet for the first time.
Not a message. Not aliens. Auroras.
Somehow, learning that humanity can hear the weather on a world 63 light-years away feels bananas.
The GBA responded by congratulating Earth and instructing us not to answer the planet. The Clipboard has opened an interference investigation. Void has been sitting beside the receiver pretending not to listen.*
I’m beginning to suspect the Universe was never silent. We just hadn’t learned how to hear it yet.
